Develop powerful, accurate kicks with the KickSpeed radar/target, a revolutionary training device designed to help soccer players hone their skills. The KickSpeed--which uses proven Doppler radar technology--attaches to a large nylon-covered foam rubber target (supplied). Next, a coach, parent, or friend holds the target on either hand about 1 to 2 feet behind the net, providing a target for the player. Because the target is not fixed or attached to any structure, players can practice a ton of different shots: high, low, right corner, left corner, and just about anywhere else. At the same time, the KickSpeed radar "sees" through the target to measure the ball speed from 12 miles per hour to more than 100 miles per hour.
As a result, the KickSpeed ends up quantitatively measuring both the speed of your kick and its accuracy, helping you improve on the two areas that lead most directly to scores. (A player who can hit the target, or near it, with power will obviously have a better chance of scoring than an equally accurate player with less power.) This also gives coaches and players a way to measure actual improvement, rather than simply guessing at a player's progress.
The KickSpeed is ideal for players who enjoy the challenge of practicing with friends or parents, and for coaches who want to establish improvement goals for each player. Best of all, the KickSpeed is as accurate as the person holding the target. As long as the holder aligns the KickSpeed with the approaching shot, it will be aligned to provide an accurate speed reading of the kick. KickSpeed represents a new approach in supplementing and reinforcing proven training methods.

I work with kids and youth and everyone loves the KickSpeed Radar. Just hold it behind a net and not only do they improve their kicking speed, but also their accuracy. One girl improved from 29mph to 43mph in a week. Great training tool. Ingenious.
